Critique Review

A little bit of char and black pepper, black fruit and a sort of violet and dried herb perfume. Almost like a Touriga, in some ways. It’s chewy and a bit rugged in the tannin department, but flavoursome and pleasingly rustic in a way. Offers some dark chocolate, and a thick tannin finish. Lots to like here, and likely better with another year in bottle.

Vineyard Info

The word "skuttlebutt" has its origin in the antiquated, nautical term for the source of drinking water on sea-going vessels. It has evolved into the colloquial term for gossip, rumour and idle chatter. This transformation can be explained by the very nature of social gatherings. Crowding around the skuttlebutt to obtain a drink of water was part of everyday life and the opportunity for idle chatter amongst the crew was the inevitable outcome and so the word became synonymous. These are classic wine styles that can be easily enjoyed everyday, the perfect excuse to Skuttlebutt with friends! Stella Bella’s five small distinctive vineyards are located throughout southern Margaret River, an area of our region chosen for its cool climate and ability to produce elegant, aromatic and medium bodied wines with personality and precision. Peak summer & low winter temperatures are moderated by extra cloud cover & ocean winds. Resulting in a longer cooler ripening period.
