Dark purple density with flashes of vermillion. Kale and rose petal, cinnamon and nutmeg, liqueur chocolate and blackberry. Savoury, spicy and sweet, all black and dark chocolates and reduced plum fruit. Blackberries ripe, mineral salts, iron and myriad winter berries. It is mouth-coating but also linear, with an underlying acidity drawing the wine to a satisfying close. The textural tannins glide alongside the acidity providing balance and an even, gentle pace - more of a bare trot than a canter.
