Critique Review
“So juicy, yet so fine, this is a "light" wine with very good ripeness, but more importantly a lot of finesse, the long finish brilliant and filigree. Drink or hold.”
94 pts, James Suckling“The 2019 Zeltinger Sonnenuhr Riesling Kabinett is bright, precise and elegant on the complex, refined, beautifully clear and flinty nose. Lush, refined and salty-piquant on the palate, this is a salty, crunchy and stimulating Kabinett with a long and intense finish. Bottled with 9.5% alcohol and 60 grams of residual sugar. Tasted at the domain in September 2020.”

Vineyard Info
Our family has made wine for 400 years and our wine tradition dates back to the 17th century. Our steep slopes produce Riesling wines of top quality, grown in harmony with Nature, entailing lots of time-consuming manual labor, and it is these values we seek to preserve. Our wines are timeless, just like our vineyards. Our wines are made by individualists for individualists, produced by progressive traditionalists for people who are passionate about wine, and who understand and cherish the value of heritage.
Sonnenuhr (with an old sundial) is a southwest facing vineyard on a rocky slope. The steepest single vineyard in the village of Zeltingen with large outcroppings of rock chunks of blue Devonian slate, very shallow subsoil of decomposed slate on top of slate bedrock.
