Vineyard Info
Since 1780, Patriarche has been the ambassador of the richesse and reputation of the terroirs and vintages of Bourgogne. As négociant-éleveur, Patriarche’s scope of action is large: it starts with the supervision of the plots and selecting grapes and continues by vinifying and maturing the wines. It is during the ageing process that the wines develop their entire potential, substance and structure. All of these stages, give the style, the identity and the signature of the great house of Patriarche.
The vineyard soil is preponderantly clay-limestone. The climate is temperate with a slight tendency to continental, with hot summers and cold winters. The range of temperature bet-ween the seasons is fairly pronounced. Precipitation falls more or less evenly through the year. This « appellation d’ori-gine contrôlée »refers to an area in the district of Rully. The vineyard, curved like a bean, covers an area of approximately 340 hectares planted with 217 hectares of vines for red wine and 123 hectares for white.
