Critique Review
This wine is already well integrated. Warm red fruits are lifted easily by red-currant acidity. The tannins fit easily into this fruitiness to produce a balanced wine that has the potential for medium-term aging. Drink from 2021.

The estate of Château de Santenay is spread over an area of 90 ha ( 222 acres) stretching from the southern vineyards of Mercurey in Côte Chalonnaise up to the Grand Cru of Clos des Vougeot in Cote de Nuits.
The castle was once the residence of the Duke of Burgundy Philippe Le Hardi (Philippe the Bold) ( 1342-1404) who was the first and foremost ambassador of Burgundy and its great wines. A third of our estate is located in the Côte d’Or with vineyards in Aloxe-Corton, Beaune 1er Cru, St Aubin, Pommard, and... Santenay of course and the rest is located in the up and coming appellation of Mercurey. The estate was converted to sustainable farming in 2004, Terra-vitis certified. We apply practices which respect the environment and don’t use herbicides pesticides, or artificial chemicals. A beautiful land of Mercurey. South West exposure hillside. Clay, limestone and draining. The specific climate 1er Cru "Les Puillets" expresses power and elegance characteristic of his appellation
