1. PINEAPPLE TARTS AND...

SANTA JULIA NATURALES "La Oveja" - Torrontés - Argentina, $39.90 (U.P. $50)

The wine presents aromas of white fruits such as peaches, floral aromas of rose petals, jasmine and geraniums. It closes with citrus aromas of lemon peel, hence, its subtle sweetness perfectly harmonises with pineapple tarts. This pairing ensures a delightful balance, allowing the wine to enhance rather than overpower the delicate flavours of the tarts.

2. DON'T STOP SNACKING ON BAK KWA AND...

ZUCCARDI "Valles" - Malbec - Mendoza - Argentina, $29.90 (U.P. $45)

This Malbec is a delicious expression of the Uco Valley, with vibrant plum and raspberry flavours complemented with fresh and spicy notes on the finish. As Bak Kwa is marinated, dehydrated, smoked and then barbequed - the Malbec's fruity character enhances the savory and robust elements while balancing out the smoky flavours.

3. THE PERFECT DRINK AFTER TOSSING LO HEI IS ...

MARIETA - Albariño, Rias Baixas - Spain, $29.90 (U.P. $42)

With white pulp fruit notes, fresh grapes, grapefruit citrus, mango and lychees, the wine is fresh, long and persistent, accentuated by hints of mandarin citrus. The wine's vibrant fruit notes seamlessly harmonize with the diverse flavours of the dish, achieving a perfect balance among the fish, roots, and toppings.

4. STEAMED ABALONE GOES GREAT WITH ...

LA CHABLISIENNE "Émotions Minérales" - Bourgogne Chardonnay - France, $32.90 (U.P. $46)

This wine is rich in the mouth with a touch of freshness and a fruity finish. Perfect to drink with seafood as its rich mouthfeel complement the sweet flavours and firm texture of seafood like shrimp, lobster and of course - steamed abalone.

5. WHAT GOES WELL WITH ANY DISH BRAISED IN DARK SAUCE?

PERRACHON ET FILS "Terres Roses" - Moulin à Vent, Beaujolais - France, $32.90 (U.P. $45)

As one of the top Beaujolais Crus, Moulin a Vent offers power married with fruitiness. This wine's bouquet is dominated by aromas of dried flowers, spices and ripe black fruit. Hence, it forms a harmonious pairing with braised meat due to its deep flavours, low tannins and intricate aromas that complement the richness and textures of slow-cooked meats in dark sauce.

6. A HEARTY, MEATY STEAMBOAT AND ...

DASHWOOD - Pinot Noir - Marlborough - New Zealand, $34.90 (U.P. $50)

A vibrant wine with a bouquet of dark cherries, plum notes with hints of Asian spice and dried herbs, soft velvety tannins. The fresh red fruit and acidity of this classic grape act as great palate cleansers for the rich broth and pair great with delicate sliced meats. Simultaneously, its earthy notes will go well with mushroom soup bases.

7. ENDING IT OFF WITH BBQ AND ...

DOMAINE BRUNELY - Gigondas, Rhône - France, $49.90 (U.P. $65)

The combination of Grenache and Mourvèdre makes for a flattering duo. With grenache bringing the roundness, cherry, liquorice, some cocoa and silky tannins, the Mourvèdre kicks in starting the mid palate with exotic spices, followed by structure and length. With a strongly flavored meat dish like BBQ, it is recommended to opt for a more powerful wine - this allows the tannins present in the wine to counterbalance and complement the character of the meat, resulting in a harmonious balance between flavours.
