Critique Review

"With a deep ruby core with purple highlights, the 2020 Pinotage opens with a juicy and smoky essence. Medium to full-bodied, the wine offers flavors of blackberry, worn leather, black spice and smoked plums before concluding with a straightforward finish and lingering tannic edge."

Vineyard Info
Mooiplaas Wine Estate & Private Nature Reserve dates back to 1806. Mooiplaas, meaning beautiful farm, is a historic and traditional working wine farm. The vineyards lie on steep slopes of ancient mineral-rich soils in the Bottelary Hills of Stellenbosch, overlooking Cape Town. Here brothers Tielman and Louis Roos produce a range of environmentally friendly wines rooted in tradition and artisan wine-making techniques that make the most of the unique terroir.
The vineyard is located 250m above sea level on an east facing slope in the Bottelary Hills of Stellenbosch. Granite soil, offering enough growth but not too vigorous for the bush vine.
