Chalky & limestone-clay soils give the wine its structure and minerality. Planted on limestone Coteaux, with a South exposition, facing the river Loire river. Farming Sustainable agriculture which is the act of farming using principles of ecology, the study of relationships between organisms and their environment. Yield limitation, green harvest, manual leaf removal to improve grape ripeness and health.

Founded in 1921, Couly Dutheil is a family estate ran today by Arnaud Couly. We produce wine in Chinon and Saumur/Saumur Champigny. The red wines are 100 % Cabernet Franc and the white wines are 100 % Chenin.
