Critique Review

Mulled plum and raspberry fruit glide along, laced with a light savory hint and backed by modest vanilla and cedar notes on the finish. Drink now through 2020.

James Molesworth, Wine Spectator

Beautiful complexity, fleshy tannins and harmonious.

Vineyard Info

Vignobles Carteyron is located on a very localized gravelly soils, on the left side of the Dordogne river, facing Saint Emilion hillside at the village of Génissac.

The main wine estate, Château Penin, is located at Génissac, of which 45 ha are for Bordeaux and Bordeaux Supérieur AOC (Control Appellation Origin) declined in White, Rosé, Clairet and Red Vintages. Our second wine estate, Château La Fleur Penin is composed of 2,5 ha in Saint-Emilion Grand Cru AOC declined in a single red vintage. This vineyard is characterised by sandy and clayish soil located at the foot of a hill. We acquired the Château in 2011.

The team has always practiced sustainable and responsible viticulture, which is now recognized by the label HVE3 (High Environmental Value). The sulphite-free winemaking process and farming methods respecting the biodiversity, or the natural grassing alternation and tillage are examples of this commitment.
