Vineyard Info
Chateau Tayac is wonderfully situated on the Right bank of the Dordogne and overlooks the confluence of the Dordone and Garonne rivers. The south-facing terraced vineyards of the Chateau offer an unequalled panorama over the Gironde Estuary. The vineyards benefit from a great micro-climate, with soils made mainly of clay on limestone, with quarry stones underground. Harvest is done partially by hand as well as sorting, to better select the grapes and express their individual character.
Passion, persistence, excellence and care have always been practised to produce well-bodied wines with an elegant character. Research and experiments, sometimes new, even avant-garde, have been introduced to achieve near perfection. Loic and Philippe resepect an ancestral know-how and always pay particular attention to growing their vines in a traditional way.
