Vineyard Info
1963, Engineer Alberto “Tito” Zuccardi, obsessed with the constant fight against the desert in Mendoza, began to plant the first vineyard of the family to demonstrate his innovative an efficient new irrigation system. This vineyard led him to discover his passion for viticulture and paved the way for the next generations of the family. In 1985, Alberto´s son, José Alberto, assumed responsibility for management of the family business. Like his father, José Alberto´s innovative and visionary spirit have made him one of Argentina’s most enthusiastic wine ambassadors.
In 2022, Zuccardi Valle de Uco became the only winery in Argentina with three wines awarded 100 points from Robert Parker Wine Advocate, putting Paraje Altamira on the map of the best terroirs of the world. Also in 2022, Wine Enthusiast Wine Star Awards honored the winery as “New World Winery of the Year.” The World´s Best Vineyards selected Zuccardi Valle de Uco as the #1 best vineyard in the world for three years consecutively (2021-2020-2019) and welcomed it into the Hall of Fame in 2022.
The Torrontés grapes are harvested in Cafayate, in the Salta Valley at 1800 meters above sea level.
