SELBACH-OSTER 2021 - Riesling Kabinett - Zeltinger Scholssberg - Mosel, Germany
SELBACH-OSTER - Riesling Kabinett - Zeltinger Scholssberg - Mosel, Germany
This Riesling is light golden yellow with a nose of minerality from the slate and crisp, clear fruit aromas which are delicate, yet persistent, focused on green things-green apples, mint, and limes. The palate is a classic light Kabinett. It is a great wine to sip alone, or combine with wonderful savoury Asian dishes.

Critique Review
“An enormously refreshing Kabinett that’s got a ton of herbal and mineral character. So much drive on the sleek, pristine palate. A very strong wine for 9% alcohol. Drink or hold.”
93 points, James Suckling“A seductive, extroverted style, with bruised apple and quince offset by grapefruit pith bitterness on a glossy, decadent palate. Shows chalky mineral accents, which bring nice firmness and spine through the finish”

Vineyard Info
Our family has made wine for 400 years and our wine tradition dates back to the 17th century. Our steep slopes produce Riesling wines of top quality, grown in harmony with Nature, entailing lots of time-consuming manual labor, and it is these values we seek to preserve. Our wines are timeless, just like our vineyards. Our wines are made by individualists for individualists, produced by progressive traditionalists for people who are passionate about wine, and who understand and cherish the value of heritage.
Schlossberg (castle hill), southwest facing, rocky slope. The smallest single vineyard in the village of Zeltingen.Chunks of Devonian slate on a layer of finer grained, weathered-down slate mixed with some loam beneath
