    Vineyard Info

    The farm Costa di Bussia was founded in 1874 by the Knight. Luigi Arnulfo who already had the intuition about the potential of his 11 hectares that make up the Estate today. They would give back great wines, especially with extremely fine Barolos. In 1890 Arnulfo shipped his wine successfully to San Francisco, a job that we have documented through letters from the Italian Swiss Agricultural Colony importer. This historical document is just one of the 200 letters found in the attic, which makes up the core of the Historical Museum of Luigi Arnulfo inside the farmhouse, telling this winery’s incredible story! In the best years we identify the vineyards or portions of vineyards where the soil characteristics guarantee the even ripening needed to make this type of wine. It is always the terroirs richest in marl that are able to guarantee powerful but delicate wines with good ageing properties.
