Vineyard Info
Domaines FABRE are made of family-owned estates in Haut-Medoc, passed down from generation to generation. Our family and children concentrate all our efforts to offer you high-class wines from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. We take into account eco-friendly practises and sustainable development. We are directly in charge of wine growing, vinification, ageing, bottling and direct sales in France and abroad. In Medoc, very few estates are able to perform all these steps.
Chateau Le Monge is characterised by soils with 60% Limestone and clay, 40% sand-gravels. The gravel from the Garonne is mixed with gravel washed down from the Pyrenees. The sub-soil is a mae of clay, limestone, marine sediments and everything created by the swirling abrasion of water and successive periods of erosion. This diversity of soils allowed us to adapt the best grapes varieties to each type of soils. The vines are planted in Bedagan village: North-West of Bordeaux, between Atlantic Ocean and Gironde estuary. Chateau le Monge enjoys a strategic geographical location, as its lies between two large bodies of water.
