It is further distinguished by its opulence. Generous right from its youth, it develops more flavours and greater complexity as it matures. In line with previous vintages, the blend is kept classic, as it is mostly composed of Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine offers a characteristic nose combining fresh fruity and spicy aromas with fine oaky notes. The attack is supple, rich and aromatic. On the palate it is velvety and perfectly balanced, with dense tannins, powerful structure, freshness and beautiful length.

Fermentation & maceration The cellar master sets down a daily worksheet for each vat, in an effort to avoid any unnecessary handling of the fermenting musts. The macerations are long and spread out over a course lasting more than three weeks.
Aging Yes: 16 months in oak barrels. The ageing is traditional in French oak barrels, renewed at 70 or 80% depending on the vintage.

Vineyard Info

The vineyard is spread across the gravelly plateau of the hamlet of Bages, to the South of Pauillac. From 1749 to 1824 it was owned by the Lynch family. In 1933, it became the property of the Cazes family. Jean Michel Cazes implemented and perfected ne production methods while respecting the traditions of appellation.
