Vineyard Info
The Cabernet Sauvignon for this wine is sourced from The Pelissa Vineyard located in Oakville, Napa Valley. Nearly 70% of this 56.5-acre site is dedicated to Cabernet. However, the fruit produced from each planting is unique due to the differences in vine age, irrigation, trellising, clone, and rootstock. Additionally, we have been able to identify and isolate high-quality sub-sections of specific blocks and harvest these separately. The oldest Cabernet on this vineyard was planted in 1998 and is dry-farmed. These mature blocks consist of clone BV-7 grafted to St. George rootstock. Our more recent plantings utilize the Ghost Block clone grafted to 3309C rootstock. This collection of differing Cabernet Sauvignon blocks planted provides the opportunity to blend an exceptionally well-balanced wine.
