Harvested at night to achieve cooler grape temperatures (20 - 28 C). Destemmed and crushed on arrival at winery. Pumped direct to stainless steel fermentation vessels and allowed to cold soak for a 24 hour period prior to yeast inoculation (EC-1118). Fermented on skins for 10 - 14 days at a temperature of between 18 – 26 C. Daily cap management and pump over regime implemented. Pressed off skins (Airbag Press) and transferred to stainless steel tanks to settle until dry. MLF Inoculated (100%) & then racked off gross lees once completed. Stored in barrels (French & Hungarian) and stainless steel tanks for 12 months. Racked & coarse filtered prior to bottling.

Regions: This wine is made from vineyards in Central Victoria (Goulburn Valley 52% / Heathcote 26% / Strathbogie Ranges 22%)<br> <br> Terroir: Soil types vary from the fertile sandy loams of the Goulburn Valley to the textured red calcareous clay soils typical in Heathcote. Along with the free draining decomposed granite found in the Strathbogie Ranges.<br> <br> Vintage Report: Average winter rainfall followed by a spring with seemingly endless rain. Summer then opened warm and wet. However the rain stopped in mid-February, and March was a joy with three balmy weeks of low, 30 ̊C temperatures and warm nights accelerating ripening. The result: distinct varietal flavours with bright fruit and elegance. Definitely one of the standout growing seasons of the last ten years.

    Smooth & easy to drink

    A very smooth wine, gentle end notes and medium bodied. Not too acidic
